In January Glen and his family went to Kenya, East Africa. Glen's first visit back in 44 years having been born and raised there. Aerial Photography. Something different for me though I have done plenty but not for a few years. My client needed some photos showing a future development site and its location relative to the Brisbane CBD (photo 1), Redcliffe Golf Course and beaches. Chrome taps, every photographers worst nightmare to photograph. The high reflective chrome taps reflect EVERYTHING! And it doesn't matter what angle it will still reflect the roof, room, camera and me! These were photographed with a special photographic tent and followed up with Photoshop retouching to remove those unwanted reflections that still creep in yet still retaining the reflective look

Outdoor family portraits are something I love doing. Getting out of my studio, having lovely clients to work with and choosing the right spot. Sometimes business owners require quality images of their premises for brochures, adverts and web sites. On the 17th April we had the privilege of photographing Angela and Alan's wedding at St. John's Cathedral in Brisbane with 160 guests. The weather was kind and we avoided the recent showers. This was a local Redcliffe wedding on the 28th November for Kristy and Wade with about 60 guests. Finished up with about 400 different images for them to choose from to create their unique wedding album in the contemporary magazine style. Which effect do you prefer? Both are done recently in my Redcliffe studio. The most popular is the "High Key" that is the one on the left, white on white for a modern contemporary look that suits most contemporary houses. Looks great as black and white as well! Click photo to see large.

Chrome is always difficult to photograph and chrome taps with their curves and mirror finish would be the worst. It is a challenge to not have all sorts of unwanted reflections in the chrome, including myself! These were done for an importers catalogue and web site.Click photo to view large.

Dust Storm over Redcliffe today about 1.00pm. The worst I have seen in 37 years living in Redcliffe. Have tried to keep the colours as close as possible to what they were, a strange yellow light that soon put a light dust powder over everything. Could even taste it! Something a little out of the ordinary for me. My hairdresser needed a couple of head shots of her partner for a male hairdressing magazine competition. Jay is very proud of his Gypsy heritage and he arrived at my studio wearing a black coat and a striking colourful scarf. His brief was to capture his "soul". This is one for the family photo history book. Four generations which is always something special. I love the way he put his arm up around his Mum with no prompting. Over a 20 year period I have done many 4 generation but only 2 or 3 with five generations. Maybe one day I will get to do six!! Click photo to see large.

I just love photographing kids. This little guy is not quite 3 years oldand he was a real pro in the studio! Great expressions. With children one has to be patient and work quickly for the perfect photo. They have a short attention span!

Glamour Photos shoot this morning. I don't do a huge amount of these but always go out of my way to do the very best for the client. This is always special for them and they want to look their best. Sandy has beautiful long hair and it was a pleasure to work with her and create something special for her that wasn't over the top or to risque.

One shot from a studio portrait shoot today for a young couple. I love black and white and the classic simplicity of it, it never dates. Black against a plain black background has no distracting elements. The trick is to backlight them so that their black tops and black hair don't merge with the background. Maybe longer sleeves on her would have worked better but I like the circle her arms make

Yesterday I had a late afternoon outdoor portrait shoot at the local Scott's Point beach just down the road from me. This is one of my favourite shots from that session. Just love the expression on this young girl. The background is rocks alongside the beach.

This is typical of the many head & shoulder shots that I do for Real Estate Agents. They need them for business cards, newspaper adds, flyers, brochures and sometimes billboards. Yesterday I was up bright and early to help with the Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run here in Redcliffe. The Rotary Club I am in (www.rotaryredcliffecity.org) helps with the marshalling at road intersections to keep car and bike drivers away from the runners. Of course I am taking my camera! May get a shot or two of the runners. Could be useful for the next Rotary Club Calendar and to add to my stock
